Hey there! Are you excited for Thanksgiving? I can’t wait for family, food and festivities. Three of my favorite things!
Even though we’re not hosting Thanksgiving, we’ve got family coming to stay with us for the week, so I thought it would be nice to get some of our Christmas decor up before they get here.
Presenting the buffalo check rustic “cabin in the woods” Christmas tree!
The red snowflake sweater ribbon is from Hobby Lobby. I bought the buffalo check fabric at Joann and cut it into strips. Last week I shared the tutorial for the mason jar ring chalkboard ornaments and the popsicle stick washi tape sleds. I also made simple deer ornaments by cutting scrapbook paper with my Silhouette machine. The wooden snowflakes and Merry Christmas ornaments are from the Target Dollar Spot. Boo yah… those were a great find.
The paper mache deer is from Joann and it was only $1.50 on sale! They had another matching deer that was sitting down that I think I’ll go back and get.
Originally I had a bunch of branches and berries shooting out the top of the tree, but my husband didn’t like it. He wanted a traditional star. So I made one. Aren’t I the best wife ever? I used burlap-look scrapbook paper and hot glued twigs around the edges. HERE is a tutorial for how to fold the stars.
I made some adorable throw pillows to match the tree. I’ll be sharing those later this week.
In the mean time, I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Eat a lot of pie for me!
