Learn how to make a stunning rainbow tulip wreath in just 20 minutes.
I decided to make myself a new spring wreath and when I saw that Michaels had mini tulip bunches in every color of the rainbow, I knew I just had to make a rainbow tulip wreath. Nothing springs scream like tulips. And a rainbow of tulips? Well, it just doesn’t get any better.
This is one of the quickest and easiest wreaths I’ve ever put together, but it looks like a million bucks. If my soul were a wreath, it would be this one. I just LOVE it so stinkin’ much.
Let me show you how you can make your own tulip wreath. Affiliate links may be used.
Supplies Needed
- Mini Tulip Bushes
- Foam Wreath Form (15 inches)
- Floral Wire
- Scissors
I bought two bunches of each color for a total of 16 bunches of tulips.
I found the tulips at Michaels. They are the smaller sized tulip bunches, not the full sized tulips. Here’s what they look like in-store.
If you use a smaller wreath form, you could probably get away with just one bunch of each color. That would lessen the cost, but give you a smaller wreath in the end, so it’s just a matter of personal preference.
Make sure you scroll down to watch the video tutorial for this project.
Step 1: Lay one bunch of tulips on top of the wreath form. Secure it in place by wrapping floral wire around the stem and the form.
Step 2: Once the first bunch of flowers is secure, add a second bunch staggered slightly down from the first bunch and wrap the floral wire around it. Be sure to get the ends of the stems under floral wire to keep them pushed down.
Step 3: Repeat all the way around the wreath. When you get to the last bunch of flowers, tuck the stems under the first bunch of flowers and secure with wire to complete the circle of tulips. Tie off the wire and snip the ends.
You’ll end up with a gorgeous rainbow of tulips!

It’s so pretty… I found all the stuff except the blue tulips. Wondering how will it look. Can I use hoop wreath as base instead of the wreath foam?
Jennifer says
I think it’ll still be beautiful. You can use any type of wreath form.

Lit-er-really the greatest wreath hack I have ever seen. I’m making this today. And I’ve followed each of your social channels to get more ideas!

Hi! I made one of these last year for myself and then 2 for this year for my mom and MIL, but I’m wondering if you figured out a way to keep the tulips from popping off? Mine seems to keep shedding them.

I’ve been having the same problem! Whenever I find one that falls off, I just glue it back on, but seriously… it’s annoying, right?!

Gorgeous wreath. This post must be a few years old as Michaels does not carry these tulips anymore. Cannot find any like this. No wreath for me 🙁

For the Rainbow Tulip Wreath, what is your suggestion for filling in the gaps that show where the bunches come together along the wreath?
Jennifer says
If you have gaps, you probably need more flowers to fill it in.
