Today I’m going to share a favorite Christmas recipe. It’s a great holiday drink that is somewhat similar to wassail, but not as heavy tasting. One cup of this will put you in the Christmas spirit lickety-split! And if you don’t believe me, just ask Santa:
Heat together 3 cups sugar and 4 cups water.
Then add:
1 12 oz. frozen orange juice undiluted
1 1/2 cup lemon juice
1 tablespoon almond extract flavoring
2 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon all spice
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
4 quarts water
Heat all until hot, but DO NOT boil (boiling will change the taste).

Dear Jennifer,
I just found this blog through pinterest. I was looking for ideas to do the 12 days of christmas for some of my neighbors. That search brought me to your entry last year on this subject. In that post you mentioned that if people sent their email address that you would send them a "print-ready" file of all the stories. I LOVE how you did this and would LOVE to use it this year…could you still email me the stories?? My email is kasey_lighten@yahoo.com
Thank you for sharing your talents…this is just what I have been looking for to bring the Christmas spirit closer to our family. Kasey Lighten

Do you think you could make this in a crock pot???

Leah,
I totally think you could make it in the crock pot, although I have never tried it that way myself. The crock pot would be ideal to keep it warm at a party where it's going to be sitting out for a few hours. I would just make sure to set it on low, because you don't want it to boil or be too hot to drink.
