Enjoy this free sewing themed cut file for use with Silhouette machines. The design is also available as a PNG file to use for other craft projects.
Hey there! Do you love to sew or know someone who loves to sew? I’ve got a fun design to share with you today. Use the cut file to customize a t-shirt, zippered pouch, or tote bag with heat transfer vinyl OR use the PNG file to create printables, sign templates or cards.
I decided to use this design to decorate a darling zippered pouch. I thought it would be a cute way to organize some of my sewing notions when I take them places. Let me show you exactly how I did it.
Step 1: If you are a Silhouette user, download the Silhouette cut file below and open it in Silhouette Design Studio. Mirror the image, adjust cut settings for the type of heat transfer vinyl you use, then send it to the machine to be cut. Don’t forget that with heat transfer vinyl, you load it into the machine shiny side down. I used pink flocked heat transfer vinyl from Expressions Vinyl just for a bit of added interest. I love the fuzzy texture!
Step 2: Once the machine is done cutting, weed the design. Pull all of the extra material off of the clear backing paper so only the design is left. I find it helpful to use a straight pin to get the really small pieces off.
Step 3: Center the design onto the bag with the clear plastic side up. I always double check with a ruler to make sure it’s spaced evenly.
Step 4: With an iron set at 320°F, apply medium pressure for 15-20 seconds. Let cool completely, then peel away the clear plastic sheet.
I love this design so much I think I’m going to make myself a t-shirt. And I have a friend who is a major sewing enthusiast, so I think she needs something too. I hope you enjoy this design and find lots of fun uses for it!
Don’t forget to Pin the image below to save this idea for later!
