Turn a 1×4 piece of wood into a simple but cute photo display.
My daughters wanted a place to display favorite photos in their bedroom and they wanted to be able to swap out the photos easily whenever they felt like it. So I quickly whipped up this little photo display for them. It turned out cute and only took a few minutes to make really, if you don’t count paint drying time.

If you have an Instax or Sprocket or Ivy, this is a great way to display all those cute mini photos. And if you have a tween or teenager and don’t have a little photo printer yet, tuck this idea away for Christmas or birthdays. They are seriously SO fun!
To make your own photo display board, you will need:
Materials Needed
- 1×4 Wood Board, any length
- Paint or Stain
- Paint Brush
- Cute Metal Clips
- Glue Gun + Glue Sticks
Instructions
Step 1: Paint or stain a piece of 1×4 wood. I just found a scrap out in the garage. Sand before painting if it has any rough edges.
Step 2: When the paint or stain is completely dry, use hot glue to attach metal clips down the center of the board. I spaced mine to fit my girls’ mini Instax photos.
And there you go! You can prop it up against the wall, add hooks on the back for hanging, or do whatever fits your situation. I love a quick and easy little craft like this. It’s so stress-free and satisfying to make something cute with not a huge time commitment.
