Easy Burlap Bubble Wreath Tutorial

Learn how to make a burlap bubble wreath using burlap ribbon and a wire wreath form. It’s a great neutral wreath you can leave up all year!

 Happy Monday! Today I’ve got a simple wreath tutorial to share. I made this one for my sister:

She wanted something neutral she could leave up all year. Sooooo the opposite of me… I want a different wreath for every holiday! Ha!

You could make this a year-round wreath or you could add some wheat stalks or mini pumpkins or autumn leaves to make it more Fall-ish. Depends on which sister you are more like, I guess. Hee hee.

To make your own burlap bubble wreath, you will need:

Materials Needed

• BURLAP RIBBON. I bought mine at Michael’s. I used three packages and they were $3 each before coupons.
• WIRE WREATH FORM. Available at all craft stores. I happened to find one at a thrift store for 49 cents, so I snagged that baby right up. They are only a few bucks at craft stores.
• HOT GLUE GUN. Make sure to have lots of glue sticks on hand too!
• Embellishments (Flowers, Wood Letter, etc.)

Instructions

Now you are going to start making the bubbles. This is super easy. Push a “bubble” up between the wires on the wreath form, like this:

Make a bubble in the inside space, then middle, then outside. Then you go to the middle again.

Inside, middle, outside, middle, inside, middle, outside, middle….. get it?

Go all the way around the wreath like that and it makes the cool textural bubbles

This is what the back looks like:

The last step is to use hot glue to secure the ends of the ribbon down.

Then you can add whatever extras you want. I chose a monogram “T” and used jute twine to tie it to the wire form.

This same technique can be used ribbon, not just burlap. I would use wired ribbon to give it body. It seems like regular ribbon would be kind of saggy and limp.

Add a loop to the back for easy hanging and then you are done!
