Make gorgeous silvery snowflakes from cocktail forks. This is a quick and easy Christmas craft!
I was walking down the aisle at Dollar Tree a while back and saw these food picks/appetizer forks/cocktail forks. Immediately, this Christmas craft popped into my mind, so I bought a few packs and came home to bring my idea to life. They turned out even cuter than I had imagined, so today I’m sharing the tutorial so you can make them too!
You only need a few supplies.
Materials Needed
- Appetizer Forks
- Circle Punch (or use a Silhouette/Cricut machine or just eyeball them)
- Cardstock (I used silver glitter paper)
- Scissors
- Hot Glue Gun + Glue Sticks
I bought my forks at Dollar Tree, but lots of places sell them. Here are a few options I found online:
Instructions
Step 1: Cut two 1 inch circles from cardstock. These will be the center of your snowflake. I used a circle punch, but you could also use an electronic cutting machine or cut them out by hand.
Step 2: Arrange the appetizer forks so that they form a snowflake shape, with the center ends on top of one circle. You can cut the forks down to make different lengths.
Step 3: Once you’re happy with the design you’ve created, use a generous amount of hot glue to attach the forks to the circle, then sandwich the second circle on top to cover the glue.
And that’s it! I told you it was a super cute and simple Christmas craft. Just imagine all the possibilities for this one too. You’d get a totally different look with wooden forks or the colored ones I linked to up above. Or you can spray paint them or add glitter. Or add any cute little embellishment to the circle. So many options!
I plan to make a bunch of them, then hang them from my kitchen window with fishing line. I think that’ll be so pretty! They’d also be great Christmas tree ornaments or you could even use a larger one as a tree topper.
