Make a quick, easy and punny Halloween costume using Duck Tape and a few other household items.
I love a good pun! Today I’m going to show you and quick and easy Halloween costume you can make in an hour or two. Let’s make a Deviled Egg costume!
This post is sponsored by Duck Brand.
I love this costume because it is easy to throw together at the last minute. We’re using Duck Tape so that you can easily remove it from the t-shirt and the headband after Halloween and keep wearing the items normally. Plus funny costumes are my favorite, so this one is just a winner all around.
Let’s get making! Here’s what you’ll need:
Materials Needed
- Red Duck Tape
- White Duck Tape
- Yellow Duck Tape
- Small Scrap of Cardboard
- Wooden Dowel
- Black T-Shirt
- Plastic Headband
- Scissors
- Rotary Cutter and Cutting Mat
- Craft Knife
- Pencil
Instructions
Step 1: To make the horns, wrap two strips of Duck Tape around a plastic headband and press the sticky sides together. Then cut horn shapes.
Step 2: To make the pitchfork, cut a pitchfork shape out of cardboard. Cover a wooden dowel with red Duck Tape, then attach the pitchfork shape to the dowel and cover the whole thing with red tape.
Step 3: Make a sheet of Duck Tape by layering strips of tape on top of each other on a cutting mat. Cut out a wobbly circle approximately 7 inches across. This is the egg white.
Step 4: Make another sheet of yellow Duck Tape strips. Use a roll of Duck Tape to trace a circle onto the sheet, then cut it out and attach it to the center of the white circle. This is the egg yolk.
Step 5: Attach the egg shape to the front of a t-shirt.
And there you have it! Such a quick costume, but still original and funny. Another bonus… it’s comfortable to wear to work or school or whatever. Nice!
