My little sister just had her first baby this past weekend. She is a beautiful, tiny little bundle of dark hair and pure happiness! Wow… you forget how teeny newborns really are! I changed the baby’s diaper and just about died. She’s SO small and sweet!
To celebrate her arrival, I thought it would be fun to give you a sneek peak into her nursery!
My sister lives in an apartment, so she couldn’t paint the walls or do anything too crazy to decorate. Instead, she sprinkled the focal wall with removable gold vinyl dots. It’s a perfect solution for rental decorating.
The baby’s name is Elle (pronounced like the letter “L”), a name I adore and have actually had on my list for years. To make the name art, my sister covered basic wood letters with chunky gold glitter using Glitter Mod Podge. They are SO sparkly and fab in person and it’s such a fun and easy way to personalize a room.
The color scheme she wanted was aqua, gold and coral, so I made a baby quilt in those colors for the crib.
The fabric is all from Joann and Hobby Lobby. Tip of the day: I like to buy white fleece to use as batting. It goes on super sale at Joann in the wintertime, so it’s actually less expensive than normal batting. It gives the quilt a nice weight and is really easy to machine quilt.
The crib was a second hand score. They spray painted it white to give it new life.
Oh, aren’t baby booties just the sweetest thing around?
We are so excited about our newest and cutest family member. Being an aunt is pretty great!
