Add ambience and old-world charm to any space with these cozy battery-powered candles and gold metal wall sconces.
The house always feels so bare after I take down the Christmas decorations, so I try to refresh my décor every January. It’s my way of warding off the winter blues. I was wandering around Hobby Lobby (my other favorite winter pick-me-up activity) looking for inspiration and found the prettiest candle wall sconces. I knew I had the perfect spot for them, so I brought them home with me and I can’t wait to tell you all about them.

Here’s what I bought:
- Bronze Metal Wall Sconces
- Luminara LED Tapered Candles
- Luminara LED Candle Remote Control
- Rub n Buff in Gold leaf
The wall sconces are the perfect blend of modern and traditional. I really love the shape. The bronze finish didn’t quite work with the antique art I have hanging in my entryway, so I used Rub n Buff to change the color.
Rub n Buff is an awesome product! It’s wax-based with metallic pigment in it. To use it, put on some rubber gloves, apply a pea-sized amount to your finger, then rub it all over the object you want to paint. It’s so easy and the finish is so luxurious. It has so much dimension and really looks luxe.
The sconce on the left has been painted with Rub n Buff and the one on the right hasn’t. See the difference in the luster and color tone? **chef’s kiss** It’s so good!
The wall sconces easily attach to the wall with screws. I took the time to paint the screw heads to match the sconces and I’m glad I did. They look better that way!
Now let’s talk about the candles. This is another Hobby Lobby find I’ve walked by a hundred times without noticing, but these candles are super cool! They’re made with real wax so the candlestick looks and feels real. They feature a faux flame that actually flickers and moves like a real candle. You can see it in action in the video below.
Each candle takes two AA batteries. They are automatically programmed to turn on for 5 hours, then off for 19 or you can purchase a little remote control to easily turn them on and off.
I am super happy with the way these candles look in my entryway. They add another layer to the décor and I love how the art piece feels more substantial and anchored with the sconces on either side.
Overall adding these wall sconces took me only a few hours, but I am just absolutely thrilled with the impact they’ve had on the space. Little details like this go a long way in making a home feel cozy, unique and inviting. I am in love!
I actually have big plans for this entryway, including adding a wood wall treatment, new tile flooring, new trim and a new paint color. But it will be a big undertaking and I’m waiting to find time where my husband and I can both be ready to work. So for now I’ll enjoy my little update to hold me over until the big renovation can happen. Don’t worry though, the candle sconces will go right back up after the paint dries in the big redo. LOL.
Do you have a place in your home where these candles would look great? I bet you do! I hope you feel inspired to add some warmth and ambience to your home or give it a little spruce up this winter. Happy homemaking!

I have been looking everywhere for the candle type holders. Could you give me the information of where to order these, maybe the tag would give me a part number and I could research and see if I could find these.
They are perfect!
