When my first was little, a good friend let me in on a super awesome secret. It’s so good that I, too, must share.

You can wash swim diapers and reuse them.
“What’s that?” I hear you say in disbelief. It is true.
You can wash swim diapers and reuse them!
I am serious! As long as they aren’t poopy (because we just ain’t going there, people), you can toss those puppies in the washer with some Lysol, throw them in the dryer (or air dry), and reuse them the next time you visit the pool.
If you’ve ever bought a package of swim diapers then you know why I am so excited about this. They are outrageously expensive! For three summers we lived in a condo with a pool and for three summers, I had a little one in diapers. Can you imagine how much money I would have spent on swim diapers going to the pool almost every day? Instead, I bought one package at the start of the summer and reused the same diapers all summer!
Mind blown? I am still excited about it!

Finally delurking to say WOW, that is a truly awesome secret tip! I have 7 month old twins and just got a kiddie pool, and so far (as in, today) just took them in naked so not to waste a swim diaper. But now I won't worry about it! Thanks for sharing. 🙂

What a great tip! I saved one & tried it out & it worked great. Now if only I could convince my husband to save them… he says they are 'too hard' to get off without ripping them open.
We have cloth swim diapers, r useable indefinitely, bum genius sells the adjustable ones for around 10 bucks, swim after swim, summer after summer, still working!
