I attended an amazing conference for bloggers over the weekend. It was so inspiring! I plan to write up a post about the experience, but I had to show you what happened at my house while I was gone.
You may remember the room that is going to be my craft room. When we bought the house, it looked like this:
A whole wall of storage? Every crafter’s dream! Then a mouse ruined my dreams. That’s right, a little mouse. Whoever built these shelves had no idea what they were doing. There is no drywall behind them… they just nailed MDF up against the cement walls (since it’s a half-basement). They didn’t even cover the seams. There was MDF, then drywall, just sitting next to each other. Weird. Anyway, mice got behind the shelves and it stunk to high heaven. I just can’t work in a mouse toilet, so we ripped down the shelving…
… and while I was gone at my conference, my husband ripped out drywall and carpet. He kept ripping stuff out until there was no more evidence of mice. He even found a dead mouse! SO glad I missed that. Bleck!
It was really shocking to come home to such a change. Even though I knew he was doing it, I didn’t see it happen little by little. My house got ripped apart. I’ll be honest, it’s a little scary!
Half the room is normal and half the room looks like a construction site. We are going to be very busy for the next few weeks!
I have been dreaming and scheming and can’t wait to finally have a craft room! Any suggestions? What are the must-haves in your craft room? What do you wish you had?
We are a few teeny projects away from finishing the pantry, so I should have the final reveal up on that soon. Isn’t it always the last few things that are the hardest to get done?

I love that I have doors on at least some of the shelving in my craft room. It keeps it from looking too cluttered. Can't wait to see the results!
I agree! I definitely want a lot of hidden storage!
