Enjoy spending an evening in with your favorite moms at this “Mummy’s Night In” mummy themed Halloween party. Easy party food, cute decor and a fun Halloween movie are all you need for a memorable and fun night in!
I’m hosting my knitting group’s October meet up, so I thought it would be fun to put together a little Halloween party for my fellow mummies. Get it? Mommy—mummy? 😉 Haha. I’m so punny.
We’ll nosh on mummy themed party food, chat, knit and enjoy a spooky Halloween flick. It’s going to be so fun!
I whipped up some easy party treats and decorations that you can replicate if you want to throw your own mummy themed party.
First up, the drinks. I am in love with these Fanta Orange sodas with special Halloween artwork. They add a bold, graphic pop of color to the food table. Isn’t the art so cool?
The next party treat I made was “Mummy Popcorn”
It’s simple to make. Pop a bag of kettle corn microwave popcorn and spread it evenly on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with marshmallows. Melt 1/2 cup chocolate chips and drizzle over popcorn.
When the chocolate cools and hardens, break up the popcorn and place it in cute containers. I wrapped clear plastic cups with white ribbon so they looked mummified. This popcorn is so simple to put together, but the sweet and salty combination is so good. SO good.
To make mummy cupcakes, bake chocolate cupcakes and frost them with streaks of white frosting using a piping bag.
Add candy googly eyes and you’ve got a delicious and easy Halloween treat.
The last mummy food are these Mummy Dogs. I wrapped all-beef hot dogs with canned biscuit dough and baked them until golden brown.
Add eyes using ketchup or barbecue sauce and you’ll have another cute and delicious mummy themed party food.
To make a mummy party backdrop, I used a black plastic tablecloth and white crepe paper streamers. Easy peasy, but doesn’t it look cool?
It didn’t take much effort at all to throw this party together, but because I chose a solid theme and stuck with a graphic black and white color scheme with just a pop of orange from the Fanta, it really came together and packs a visual punch. My friends had so much fun at our Mummies Night In. Are you throwing a Halloween party this year? Let me know in the comments!
