A review of the paint color Rainwashed by Sherwin-Williams
I can’t wait another minute to talk about the paint I picked for our living/dining/kitchen area.
I chose Rainwashed by Sherwin-Williams. Here is a little sneak peek to tide you over until the room is free of 2×4’s and boxes.
Isn’t it pretty? Now that I’ve lived with it for almost a month, I can say that I wholeheartedly love it. The color changes depending on the light. Sometimes I think it is really blue, other times it looks gray, and in certain lights it looks green! I would say that for the most part it is blue, though. It is such a soothing color. It’s definitely a color, but it almost reads as a neutral because everything looks good with it.
We don’t have baseboards or crown moulding at the moment either. Yep, we’re in the throws of it.
I was so impressed with Sherwin-Williams paint. The coverage was exceptional. I did two coats of paint because I have wild children and wanted it to be durable, but this paint covered perfectly after only ONE coat. I thought that was pretty cool.
I can’t wait to show you the before and after pictures of this room. Going from red/tan/nacho cheese to this stunning and modern color? The change was dramatic!
UPDATE 2023: I have lived with this color for 8 years now and I still LOVE it! It really is a colorful neutral. I have decorated these rooms with pink, navy, red, rust, sage, olive, gray and mustard over the years and Rainwashed just looks good with everything.
Another blow-your-mind fact that has me converted devotedly to Sherwin-Williams Emerald paint… after five or six years there were a few dings and scuffs that wouldn’t scrub off, so I opened my five year old can of paint to do touchups and the paint blended in perfectly.
PERFECTLY.
AFTER FIVE OR SIX YEARS!
I’m sold. I’ll only use Sherwin-Williams Emerald paint from now on.

OOOHHH I love that color! I think I just found the color for my bathrooms when I finally get to paint our new house! I just hope that it isn't too expensive because we have three bathrooms and I would love to keep them all the same color so we can keep the same towels and bathroom décor between them without clashing colors.

I think it would be a perfect color for a bathroom…very tranquil and spa-like! Sherwin-Williams has great sales, so that will help with the cost. Especially in a bathroom, it's worth it to get quality paint that will hold up to moisture and scrubbing.
